I've used this product over the years and purchased it from different sources. It's one of the only things that's helped with my acne as well as scarring. Works, works, works!
This product does work but takes a long time to show its effect. You have to be patient and use it for about a year straight, and yes, your skin will peel and purge but then all the acne scars will disappear. The only thing is I did stop using it after about 2 1/2 to 3 years because I noticed it was actually lightening up my complexion which wasn't actually what I wanted. I just wanted to get rid of acne scarring. If you are using this for acne PLEASE HANG IN THERE AND DON'T STOP USING IT. It will work but it TAKES TIME. Be strong through the peeling process, this is where most people give up and say it doesn't work that it only makes it worse- that is not true, you can't give up when it is in the middle of doing its job.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This product contains the exact same formulation as "TAZORAC", "Retin-A", RENOVA: A prescription ("United States Pharmacopeia" or U.S.P.) .acne medication that is also used as a "skin rejuvenation" beauty product. This is a GENERIC "PRESCRIPTION" medication that you can purchase "with-out" a prescription. It is a retinoid; a form of a precription strength vitamin A. The laws differ state to state and country to country; so do the PRICES. The over-the-counter retinoid creams ARE NOT the same as the prescription strength; "U.S.P." or "United States Pharmacopeia" . They do not yield the same results. I have been using this product since the 1980's when it first hit the market as "RETIN-A": 0.1% being the strongest. This works as well or better than the prescription Tretinoin i had been using, but could not get anymore because my insurance would not approve.. Retinol vitamin A tretinoin .01% gel
I have used Obagi tretinoin .01 in the past. Obagi appears to be a bit more effective in that you can feel it beginning to "burn" when it is applied.
