    Additional Instructions

If you endeavor to replace a broken touch screen digitizer in a Prius as I did when purchasing, keep in mind that you are going to have to disassemble the multimedia display down to its bones. It’s easy to remove from the vehicle, there are several helpful YouTube videos on this. What I was NOT able to find an instructional video on was the best method for removing the non working digitizer from the LCD screen. I used a heat gun and a VERY thin puddy knife - heat the edge of the screen little by little until the adhesive loosens enough for you to slide the puddy knife in under the digitizer. The screen is adhered only around the perimeter, and at this point you can continue to heat around the perimeter and follow with the puddy knife to release the rest of the screen. Make sure the ribbons are disconnected and remove the non functioning one. Now, you need an adhesive approximately equivalent to what the factory used to stick on the new digitizer. I used double sided TEK tape 2mm, it’s supposed to be really good stuff, a local cell phone repair guy uses it for his pro jobs for sticking on new digitizers. You NEED adhesive or double sided tape to complete this job, if you don’t use it the digitizer will slide around on the front face of the display and it’ll never be accurate. Once you have the perimeter with newly installed double sided tape, square up the new digitizer in the same spot as the old one (you may want to put some kind of mark on the old edge so you can get it perfect during the new install). Stick down firmly and hold until there’s a solid bold from the tape. Reassemble the entire media interface and viola! Put back in your car and start driving. Mine didn’t even need a calibration. Hope you found this review helpful.w

    Works but with a caveat.

Pros: It is compatible with the MFD electronics and does work. The flexible cable is slightly off to the side compared to the original touchscreen, but since it is long enough this is not a problem. Cons: Light transmission through the touchscreen is such that there's significant degradation in the display quality. There's quite a bit of "rainbow" effect in the overall display. If I could easily locate one, I would be willing to pay twice as much for a better display quality.

  • Good product!

Cheapest way to get your MFD fixed provided LCD is still working. My unit had navigation and it works! Previous posting for this product was very helpful. The digitizer is attached to the LCD by a thin double sided tape on just the top and bottom of the screen. 2mm double sided tape is needed to put it together which is available through Amazon.

  • Poor image quality, Irritating rainbow effect

Installed in a Lexus IS250 nav unit. description is accurate & works as expected but has an very bad rainbow striped image across it at all times while using it. It gives me headaches just looking at it. Poor quality coating or material on the face of the digitizer. I would look for a better one if you want clear image quality.

  • Good product for a bargain

The ribbon connector is completely off from the original, but since it’s long enough, it’ll work. Also, wish the glass had tint. But that’s something you could do on your own. Works well so far!

  • Not a perfect fit for 06 Prius but it works good.

Everything seems great on this touch screen. Works just like OEM. However, the ribbon cable was not in the exact spot for this product than my 2006 Prius. It's not a huge deal, the ribbon cable was just long enough to fit even though it was not perfect. I don't see it being a problem at all as long as you are gentle putting it in and use some attention to detail. Good luck

  • Fits and Works like promised

I was skeptical to order this screen because the ribbon cable was different from the original. I bought this one at a good, good price, removed the original screen, put all back together, installed the navigation back into the car and it worked. I am HAPPY, HAPPY to have touchscreen working again.

  • It really works!

It really works on my friend’s GS350. Touch screen is back! Original one is glass, but this one is plastic, may be. So, not recommend push too hard for each operation.
