  • The definitive narration of drug use in America, from a man who lived through it and tells the tale in his own plain words.

Epic work by the Master. Anyone with the slightest intertest in drug use and addiction must read this classic work of American non-fiction. I had an original copy of the book, and read it several decades ago, but it fell apart on me and no longer exists, This more recent printing brought back memories, so many phrases, scenarios, and situations were locked in my memory and flowed seamlessly into my re- reading of this masterpiece. Some of the jargon may seem dated, like watching an old Hollywood 1940's crime drama, but that is a large part of the charm! My original copy had a review on the back cover, something about 'this peculiar illness which our current laws have branded a crime', and this holds truer today than ever.
