Functional, Don't buy is you have a normal size head - way too tight
I have a normal sized head - hat size medium. This is way too tight with no way to adjust. Ok for an hour or so, but would be painful for all day. Sound ok and loud enough. Not much noise cancellation. The microphone boom is flexible to position to be heard. This is important. It's a basic headset - no mute or volume control. I can do that on the cordless phone. To get good hearing and sound, you need to play around a little bit to find the perfect position of the ear piece. Once you find that sweet spot, it is fine. Get it.
