Good for radiant ceilings
We replaced our 45 year old mechanical bi-metal thermostats with these to be able to cut back on electrical costs. We have 8 zones or rooms of radiant ceiling heat and programmed each stat for the time we would normally be in and out of the room. When the thermostats are on the spaces do not seem to overshoot in temperature, it is more even. If someone is purchasing these they need to make sure they only require a 2 wire line voltage thermostat. Also the radiant ceiling amperage draw can be no more than 14.6 amps. Good Thermostat
This is an electric baseboard thermostat, but people must buy them for a furnace (won't work) and return them with the packaging trashed so the store has to unload them cheap. I replaced every thermostat in my house with these, and I picked them up for next to nothing at stores and on eBay. You can program these to change temperature for the time of day, etc., if you don't have an instruction booklet the information is available online - which you will need if you want to do any fancy programming. Conveniently runs on 120 and 240 volt baseboards and it doesn't need batteries as it runs on the baseboard current. Screen illuminates when you touch the buttons and shows time and temp and if heat is on. It's very easy to install, but cut the power to you baseboards before installing or you will die.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Honeywell/AUBE RLV4305A
This model RLV4305A can handle up to 3500 Watts, compared to a similar model RLV430A that handles only up to 3000 Watts. They look identical though. The RLV4305A also got ride of the DISPLAY BACKLIGHT STAYING ON CONSTANTLY, and instead, only lights up for 12 seconds when you press ANY BUTTON. I like that feature so the light does not stay on any bug me. The black color numbers that show the temp, time, day etc do stay on, but that annoying GREEN COLOR BACKLIGHT DISPLAY does not. A good investment.
I purchased 2 used / open box for $20 each and they work fine and have no visual blemishes. At this price, I think these are a great value and will pay for themselves in a few years. Previous to these, I was using the onboard rheostat on the baseboards which was pretty much a freeze or fry scenario in practice. These allow for much more sophisticated control. At the retail price of ~ $51, you'd probably need to be a young-un looking to own the place for a long time for these to pay off, but then again, they'll help sooth your green conscious if your so equipped.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
