    Great little saw.

I recently got to use my Makita saw on a job that required me to cut down some small timber into smaller pieces. I have to say, this saw more than rose to the occasion. I have only used gas powered saws in the past, but I was really impressed by the power of this battery powered unit. I made quick work of that wood pile and only used half of my 5 amp battery after about a half hour. Makita has always been known for quality products and this is another example of a company putting out a quality product that lives up to that reputation. Highly recommended!

    Nope

Definitely not a professional saw. It has very little power and gobbles batteries in no time. If you are pruning a bunch of small 1-2" branches then it's okay. I've pushed it and done some 3-4" cuts but I don't recommend it. First it's slow cutting and second, the larger cuts drain the battery. If you're looking for better performance then spend more money and get the 36V Makita; it's a beast! and a quantum leap better than the 18V.

  • Great little chain saw

This is an awesome little tool. The chain saw is a good length with a 10" bar. Will be good for cutting small to medium size fire wood. It is light enough to use one handed and cuts through hard wood easily. This is now my go to chain say and it will live in the back of my car.

  • This is an excellent little chainsaw!

This an excellent little chainsaw. So light, you can easily one hand it. Easy to turn on and off when you want to move stuff around between cuts. The little 10 inch bar is perfectly balanced with just 18 volt power. Just keep those RPMs up and it cuts like butter through hard and softwood. Would make a great tree climbers saw.

  • Great little saw for small cutting jobs

The saw is light and maneuverable. I use it when pruning trees. With the top handle, I can run the saw with one hand and use my other hand to hold the to-be-cut branch. It does a great job of cutting small to midsized limbs or trees. When it is running, there isn't any annoying smoke to breath. I have a couple of 3 amp-hour batteries. Since I'm not using it constantly, when one runs out of charge, I take the other battery off the charger, put this one on, and go back to pruning.

  • Awesome little chain saw.

Awesome small hand use chain saw. I have a few larger chain saws to cut larger limbs but if you just cleaning up little stuff this thing works great, but you will need a large capacity battery or 2 if you use it a lot.
