Amazingly quiet and sweet features considering the price

I was using a one spot for about 7 pedals, which I honestly didn’t think was that noisy. When I finally pulled the trigger on this brick, I was floored by the difference…silence. No feedback, noise, nor hum was audible. Yes, that’s what it supposed to do, but it’s also lightweight and has 2 18v inputs, which ultimately was the selling point for me. Although it didn’t fit underneath my pedalboard (metro 24), I velcroed it in between pedals and its fine. Granted, I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but it’s MXR, so the quality is there. Decently priced compared to most power supplies, but even some of the pricer ones have less features! So worth it!

    Didn’t fix my hum.

I am running several pedals into my half stack Vai Legacy tube amp and getting a hum mainly from my boost pedal and compressor/sustain pedals. I bought a Furmin power conditioner and then the iso brick but still have a hum. I guess I’ll just have to get a noise gate? (my old one died, maybe from too much noise! Lol). I researched several isolated power supplies and I believe this is a good value, but didn’t solve MY problem. It may solve yours, but it’s hard to recommend something that didn’t help me.

  • Nice brick.

This little unit seems of high quality. I was using an adapter with a daisy chain of 9 volt supply for my guitar pedals and i was getting a buzz in the audio. This mxr iso-brick solved that problem very well. I especially like the fact that a couple of the ports in the brick have adjustable voltage knobs. I think this is very useful for those who have a couple pedals that might require a different voltage. The little blue lights allow the player to see which wires have active connection, so that takes some of the guesswork out of troubleshooting. Very pleased with this and i felt 128 bucks was a very good deal for new product with all the little wires included. Kind of glad i ponied up the little bit extra for a superior product rather than get stuck with a lesser power supply.

  • Flawless B Stock MXR M238 ISO Brick

MXR M238 ISO Brick. Flawless B stock, no physical flaws visible. Better than the original I purchased a couple years ago. Original V trimmers were not straight and had these foam rings to keep from turning in transit or by accident. This new version trimmers are straight, must be upgraded pots. No foam ring surrounds. New version LEDs have switched positions from the original brick. LED main power indicators are reversed from the original bricks. I also noticed when powering down the original brick's main caps take significantly longer to discharge. Not an issue, just an observation. LEDs fade longer on the original. I checked voltages on all outs, all within spec. Solid cable connections. I tested resistance from like + and - connections from one out to another with power up, infinite ohms on all tested. Guess it is indeed isolated outs, really good deal for sure.

  • Just about good as new

Good value, works perfect. Really more connections than I need. Will fit under my new pedalboard fine. I think the only imperfection was one of the pins on the box itself was a little bent. No big deal, still works on that pin.

  • Great iso power source

I fretted and researched and watched reviews on YT... finally pulled the trigger on an MXR iso power source. I only run a few pedals. Never really got into the giant pedal board thing. The MXR M238 is way more than I will ever need or use. I bought it to give the few pedals I do have a quality isolated power source. I was using a power all which works great for a couple of low power consuming pedals. The MXR M238 is a quality piece of gear and I highly recommend it. It has two adjustable plugs that range from 6-15v which is awesome for those pedals that can take variable voltage without blowing up. With the variety of power plugs available it is super flexible and I feel certain this would power a large board if you daisy chained maybe 2-3 of your low power consuming pedals to a higher mA plug. There's so many options with this unit, that was the deciding factor for me when buying this. It's built like a tank in an all metal enclosure. It came with extra DC power cables. The biggest surprise is how small it is. It isn't much bigger than your average size effect pedal.

  • MXR M 238 ISO-Brick powers your pedals; protects your sound

Isolated power for pedals is not only safer for your effects longevity but sounds better too. Especially in a static pedalboard setup which employs the use of a loop switcher with true bypass relay switches. This plus low capacitance patch cords equals effects nirvana. But if only used for a standard pedalboard you won't have to worry about your pedals shorting out due to contacting the output of one pedal to the input of another causing damage to your pedals. I chose the MXR M238 because it had the most outputs for the pedals I employ on my board.

  • mxr iso-brick

the M238 is my first isolated power supply. i purchased it as an upgrade from a one-spot chain which was extremely noisy with analog pedals. i've only had if for a month, but so far i am very happy with the M238. it's built solid, and took care of a lot of noise from the pedal board signal.

  • MXR238 Isolated Power Supply

Excellent power supply, that can supply nearly any pedal, old or new(just look up the features). I run a voodoo labs Pro Plus, and this one is just better, if for nothing more than having more milliamp options.

  • Gig ready power supply. Perfect for live or studio use.

Works flawlessly. Quick power up. Silent unit. No noise generated in the signal chain. Plenty of length in the supplied cords. Has been reliable so far.
