Best way to improve accuracy
Having had several long range & hunting rifles over the past 55 years, the importance of a good trigger is the heart of good accuracy. Recently purchased a Savage Axis in 6.5 Creedmoor, Knowing the inherent accuracy capable of this caliber, I was somewhat amazed at the factory trigger in this rifle, something like dragging a five pound bag of sugar over a rub-board with your finger, not good by any stretch. Having had years ago used a Timney trigger in another rifle, felt this would be the easiest fix. Ordered from dealer on E-Bay saving approx. $30.00, paid no shipping and had trigger in 4 days from order date. Installation was simple drop in following their enclosed instructions. Now have a glass smooth trigger pulling at 2.25# with no creep or over-travel, allowing sub 1"groups @ 100 yards. Could not be more pleased with product or E-bay and look forward to using again. A better way
This trigger made my Savage Axis 22.250 SOOOOOO much better than stock JUNK. Set at 1.5 lbs and along with a new 5x25 Zeiss scope the guns shoots 1/2" moa at 200 yds. Great trigger upgrade for a Savage Axis
This trigger is a HUGE upgrade from the std trigger!! Getting the trigger set to the correct poundage was pretty straight forward. I do not have a trigger pull gauge, but got the trigger set to where it feels good. I will another one of these for a different rifle. Easy to install.
I set it at 1 34 lb. and it won't stay cocked when I close the bolt one out of ten times. I called Timney Customer Service and the tech. said it would be fixed if i up the poundage a little.
