Lasergrips is the Smith & Wesson laser grip line, designed to help you get a solid grip on your revolver while increasing your performance. Designed for the Smith & Wesson J-frame round butt revolver line, the Crimson Trace LG-405 Laser Sight grip helps improve shooting accuracy and reduce recoil. S&W revolvers are the first line of defense for many people who carry a concealed weapon, and the J-frame round butt revolver is a sleek, compact gun perfect for concealed carry. The LG-405 is made from a plastic and rubber combination. The grip has a polymer plastic base with rubber overmolding. An ergonomic design makes this grip comfortable to hold and it is large enough to fill your hand without feeling bulky. Crimson Trace Lasergrips are user intuitive and the design makes it simple to activate the laser for emergency shooting or target practice. The laser has front activation that engages when the grip is held in a shooting position. There is a master on and off switch on the bottom of the grip, which allows you full control of laser activation. In the off position, the laser will not activate at all. In the on position, activation is instant when your fingers or the palm of your hand, instinctively grab the activation button on the inside handle of the grip. An air pocket on the top of the backstrap helps to reduce recoil of the Smith & Wesson J-frame revolver by up to 30 percent, when used with the Crimson Trace Lasergrips. Overall specs of the Crimson Trace LG-405 laser sight include a laser output of 5mW red laser, laser visibility of .5-inch diameter at 50 feet, and dot size .50 inches at 50 feet. The Crimson Trace tactical laser grip takes two lithium batteries size 2032 and has a four-hour battery life for continued trigger practice. The top, right side of the grip includes the elevation adjustment and windage adjustment, to adjust the sights and ensure you have proper aim and bullet impact when using the laserguard. The roll pin in the center of the grip has a place for the lithium batteries, and the Crimson Trace includes all the necessary warning labels that you apply to the Lasergrips after purchase. If using the laser sights to help with accuracy for concealed carry, it is possible to practice emergency hip shooting with the trigger mode. You can holster your gun and practice pulling it quickly, to observe how well you can sight with the laser in a quick pull scenario. The Crimson Trace LG-405 gives you feedback during target practice, too. You will be able to see where the laser points when you pull the trigger, showing how your trigger pull affects your aim. You can improve your overall shooting performance while working to improve aim and trigger pull using this feedback. This is our third set of CT grips. The first two sets were for my wife's P3AT & my PF9 Keltec carry guns. This set is for her new S&W 642. From what iv'e read most encounters happen @ 7 yards or less so why a laser? Hopefully when the bad guy sees the red dot on his chest he'll have a change of heart & walk away.
