The fan is fine but the shippers not that helpful
the shippers of this product
listed the cost of the item on the invoice as a total of cost plus postage
e which was ludicrous anyhow (I have had items from the States 3 x that size and postage was less
making the cost of the fan double what it should be
i then had to pay import duty on the whole price incl postage
which cost another £28 which ended up costing an absolute fortune
they could have excl the exorbitant postage cost from the total
which would have resulted in a lot less import duty
certainly wont use them again
Bought two Calframo 'BORA' fans for my un-airconditioned RV trailer in an attempt to make it more liveable in hot weather. I wanted 12 volt fans so I didn't have to turn on my 120 volt inverter (see below). These appear to be better quality than a number of cheaper fans, and they also cater to the marine market. They are small, attractive, very adjustable, and reasonably quiet. The actual fan is about 5 inches in diameter and has 3 speeds and draw about 4 watts at maximum. Wires are very fine and the fan needs a fused circuit. Fuse and fuse holder not supplied. You have to do your own wiring.
I found myself running them at high speed as their air volume isn't that much. They are fine if you are within a few feet of them, otherwise they really don't cool you off. My $10 eight inch 120 volt WM desk fan moves much more air clear across the 10 foot trailer cabin.
They are a good value for a 12 volt installed circulating fan, but if you have 120 volts available, there are better choices.
