Outstanding Quality and Flavor in Blackstrap Molasses
I have been adding this to my coffee (Louisiana Dark Roast made in an old drip pot) for years. I was a long distance runner with leg pain and this provides a boost of potassium which may (or may not) help. It is also a Southern tradition to add this to coffee according to ex President Jimmy Carter. All that said, it really tastes good. It is a truly very slightly sweet flavor that goes well with dark roast coffee. My source store switched to the Organic brand of Plantation Molasses which had more calories, a light sweeter flavor and much less iron and potassium and just did not complement the coffee as I serve it to friends and family. I found Plantation Blackstrap on line and the price was about the same as I had been paying in the only store in our town that had carried it and am now very happy with my morning coffee. I recommend this on pancakes, corn cakes and of course, Cafe Au Lait, Louisiana style.
Pro: Got the right size and quantity I ordered. Most places are selling half the amount for the same price.
Con: The website shows nutritional values containing 600mg of potassium per one tbl serving. The bottle says 352mg of potassium. The iron and calcium DV were 20% as expected though.
