You get what you pay for. It feels like you have a cheap fragile piece of plastic when you're trying to use it. Sometimes it comes on all by itself just laying in the case then turns itself off after no use. I really wanted one with better resolution. Excellent value for home hobbyist & mechanic use
Easy to use, to read, and accurate enough for most if not all of the uses I have, which includes woodworking tool setups and projects, bicycle repair and maintenance, and moderate-level home auto mechanics. Auto-start and auto-shutoff features are handy. Comes in a sturdy plastic case with padding. Unfortunately (and the only negative at this early stage of ownership), there is no way to "hold" the reading beyond using the clamp screw (which is better used for repeat measuring). Best calipers. Period.
I've used a lot of calipers over the years and these have got to be the best I've ever used. Compared to the Mitutoyo calipers I use at work, these are more sturdy, sharper and just as accurate. The calipers come in a nice case with a nifty slot for a spare battery. And the killer feature of these is the inch fraction capability. Having worked with precision equipment here in the US, determining if a bearing/thread/pipe is in metric or standard units without using a table is a godsend and a huge time saver. Decent Quality Measuring Tool
I use these calipers mostly for measuring bolts, studs and fasteners (as well as drop depth). So far it has held up well to the harsh environment that it lives in. I wouldn't recommend it for precision measurements such as for engine building, but it's accurate enough for measurements to the hundredths. Good quality caliper
I bought this caliper for the fraction function. Ideal for gauging drill bits and rough stock in a pile. I was surprised at the quality. THe accuracy is good throughout the range. -.0025" over four inches. Good enough for an inexpensive instrument. It returns to zero almost every time. Not a big deal, if it doesn't. Hit the zero button and good to go. My Mitutoyo Absolute gets confused on occasion. It cost five times this one did so no worries. It is very smooth throughout the range. Much more so than other inexpensive beater instruments I have owned. No need to deburr and stone the edges of the rail. This one is well worth the money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
