  • Versatile WiFi network extender

Deco M9 can act as access points to extend an existing WiFi system (like with an ISP’s modem/router) or can create a separate WiFi network. While the app that you use to set up the system is good, it is not intuitive if you aren’t already tech savvy. For instance, after setting up the main Deco pod, the app doesn’t say that you have to set up satellite pods first in close proximity to the main pod and then move it to a more remote location. The Deco support reps were extremely helpful through the chat feature on the app and they walked me though the set up and reconfiguration of the system to work as access points rather than a separate network. But once set up the product seems to work well.

  • Good quality mesh system, singles nice to expand a multi-pack

Lots of sellers splitting up the Costco 3-packs of the Deco M-9, which is great because I needed four to cover my house. They work great, are easy to set up, and at <$100 per unit (less at Costco) are fairly priced. The dedicated wireless backhaul sets this model apart from most of the less expensive or older units. Recommended.

  • Great easy to use produc.

Wi-Fi Mesh works as expected. It is very easy to set up, easy to manage, and performs very well. I can get full 100+ Mbs anywhere in my 3100 sqft home (wire speed from my provider). The range is very good and I can get good connectivity on my dock which is 110ft from the nearest station on a window sill. I do wish the units had a way to hang them on a wall or ceiling. There are no available mounting holes so they by default need to sit on a surface.

  • Didn't Know What We Were Missing

I've always had good technology, and we really had no complaints about our wireless router and range extender setup. Speeds were fast enough, we could login to 5ghz or 2.4ghz bands, etc. And then there was the mesh. O...M...G...!! This system is super easy to setup, provides WAY better coverage, and seemless single system availability (offers both 5ghz and 2.4ghz via single network designation), and speeds we previously only achieved via WIRED ethernet connection. We didn't know what we were missing, but we're in love with our TP-Link mesh!

  • Mesh router that works every bit as well as advertised

Bought this to replace my aging 802.11n router and was not disappointed! At last my home network can saturate my gigabit internet connection - and not just when standing next to the base station either. The mesh network that the Deco routers create can handle three different people on three different video conferences in three different parts of the house without skipping a beat. Signal strength is excellent even in the back yard. Parental controls work. Many routers need to be rebooted periodically but I haven't needed to restart the TP Link routers yet. And although I read some reports of problems with the smartphone app, I experienced no such issues. Best home networking purchase I've made yet!

  • Mesh beats range extenders any day, all day

The Deco M9 Plus (router mode) has been installed for a few weeks now, but so far it's been a five-star product. Mine is connected in star topology, with a node on each floor of my 3-level home. Ran Ethernet backhaul between two of the units. But even without being hardwired, the node-to-node transmission rates were stellar. Using the phone app step-by-step install instructions was simple and straightforward - no issues. The immediate notification to upgrade the firmware made me nervous. But that also went smoothly. The Deco replaced a 6-year-old TP-Link Archer C8 router that was set up with a couple of wifi range extenders. Quite frankly, range extenders suck...the handoff when roaming through the house would often take 30-60 seconds. However, with the new mesh technology, handoff from node to node is now indiscernible. This is the ticket if you're trying to flood your house with glorious, seamless wifi. Things that could be improved: 1) Web browser GUI for configuration/monitoring is weak. Forums indicate it's being worked on. 2) Additional Ethernet ports on each disc would be helpful, but I guess that's how TP-Link sells extra switches. (I had to buy two.) 3) Make the USB port on each node available for consumer use.

  • Well worth the investment!

This was an upgrade to replace a new Arris Surfboard router which kept dropping connections. It is far superior! We have a consistent speed, no dead spots and an app that adds value. We can see which device is online and how much data is being used. The antivirus software is also strong and has amazed me with how many people try to get into our network. You will not regret the purchase!

  • Very good performance for the price

I live in a two story concrete house where living quarters are upstairs and the garage, a hobby room and my office are down. Installed the three unit and walk around the house with excellent reception and one wi-fi network. I have a second home with the same characteristics and have the same results. I live in Puerto Rico where most of the houses are either reinforced concrete or concrete blocks wall, very difficult for Wi-fi reception.

  • A mesh solution that won't make you pull your hair out!

Excellent stability and interchangeable pucks make this an excellent mesh offering. Having full tri-band support with a dedicated backhaul means better throughput and overall support for devices, as well. Be willing to download firmware manually, though, as the app doesn't always know when there is a new version available.

  • Works well over large square footage

Bought the set to position throughout a 4200 sq ft home and it had hit our expectation. Also using a port switch off of this and no problems. Love the brand and the parental controls in the app!
