Look ma, no hands!
This mixer is great for light- and medium-duty work. I made 18 cupcakes from scratch and it handled the mixing well. I never had to use more than 2 speeds. I think it's a great for occasional needs, which is why I bought it. Although I think it would work well for daily use, it might not last long for that. It's not designed for industrial or heavy use, but for a lightweight kitchen mixer, this one fits the bill. The best part for me is that it frees up my hands. I considered getting a hand mixer but decided that that would defeat my purposes for getting a mixer in the first place. Another good feature is that the bowl spins by itself and you can adjust it from side to side. I also was pleasantly pleased to get dough hooks and a whisk. The only downside for me was that the beaters did not touch the bottom of the bowl. This meant that I had to periodically scrape ingredients from the side of the bowl and fold them in toward the beaters. But this may be a blessing in the long run. If the beaters touched the bottom, I think the constant scraping might eventually wear away the bowl. Bottom line, I'm very pleased.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Lightweight, easy to use
It is very attractive but fails in the quality department. It is very light plastic and will break easily. It will not knead dough, it isn't strong enough for that which is the reason I wanted a stand mixer. I tried to make cookies last night and it isn't strong enough for that either. It has multiple speeds but not a slow speed. It goes like a bat out of hell on the lowest setting. I will use it for cake mix or whipping cream, something with a lot of liquid. Nothing thick. You get what you pay for!
It wasn't expensive but I trusted Hamilton Beach would be a good product. I made mashed potatoes and the motor got hot and smelled. When I tried to put the mixer head back on the base after cleaning, the latch mechanism, which is plastic broke off. It's just a hand held mixer now. Problems with the Hamilton Beach Mixer
