Genuine BMW M3 330 E46 3 series Wind deflector Windscreen Convertible OEM 97-06. Unit is in used but really good condition. No holes or tears in the screen itself. Some scratches on the frame from basic usage/storage. Has both rubber pieces that hole the screen down while driving. These have been flipped the other way around to prevent from breaking while in storage/ shipping. Please be sure to reverse when item arrives. Please see pictures. You NEED a wind deflector; going OEM is the best!
Convertible wind deflectors totally change the pleasure of driving your convertible. They cancel the wind buffeting, quiet interior noise, and enable fully useful HVAC function whether it is hot or cold outside, dramatically extending the convertible season. The OEM factory version fits better and is collapsible for storing in the trunk when not in use, unlike the aftermarket versions. I waffled over buying the cheaper aftermarket versions and am very pleased that I paid the premium to get the OEM part. Good with some reservations
Although the deflector stays up in the wind there is a chance it may not hold up from swinging/folding down. It seems to me that this is a weak point. Another review says it falls down in higher speeds. I have only tested it out once but hit 80 mph and it stayed up. Not totally sure this is brand new as there was some minor wear signs on the pins that hold it in place. It looks to be original BMW wind screen but this is the first BMW part I have purchased where there was no BMW logo found anywhere. No instructions/paperwork provided regarding the product other than what was printed on the case. Product was as advertised. It arrived within a couple of weeks, even from across the pond. I ordered this one because it appeared to be OEM style and had the storage bag with picture instructions. There were some cheaper alternatives out there but they didn't fold up and also didn't have the storage bag. What a difference with this screen! Just came back from a top down drive on sunny 50 degree morning without the cold wind swirling around the cabin. Can't imagine driving again without it. At night or in rain with the top up, just flip the screen down without having to operate a catch! Saw lots of reviews saying this screen falls down at speed. Never once had that problem with the top down, even at 95 on the freeway. Backpressure on screen holds it up—unless you roll down a window at which point it will collapse. This is an ingenious device that transforms top down driving. My wife LOVES the reduced impact on her hair...which makes for a happier cruise! Chose the OEM version because it folds down to an easily stowable size in the trunk. Nice storage and carry case as well to protect the screen from damage.
