It works well and is of great quality.
I did take it to a local Apple store in my city to verify if really was an OEM. They scanned the code, because it had a slightly different packaging and serial number, they couldn’t provide more information. However they said it looks genuine and probably is one; the adapter and the cable. They also said it should just work fine after we connected it to an iPad. I compared it with the one that came with the iPad, it has slightly different information on it but build quality wise and using it for last 3 says: I can’t see any difference. I recommend this product.

Overheating and leaving only partial charges
I bought this second charger to have the ability to charge my ipad at work and unfortunately it overheats and stops charging. Yes, it has the same rating as the old charger that I have. With this new charger the ipad from a drained battery will charge up to around 20% and then it will stop. No matter how long you leave it connected to the charger the ipad charge will not exceed this 20% and the charger itself will become very hot. The only way to achieve a full charge is to do it in steps (ae disconnect the charger let it cool down and reconnect it for an additional 15% of charge and repeat this process until full) and this is not the way charging is suppose to happen. The old charger does the charging in one go, still. Hence the new one leaves a lot to desire, I would question the "Original Genuine OEM" statement in the product description.

iPad Charger - 12 Watt
This charger works much better than a previous one we have used. With the previous charger, if the iPad was low on battery power, you couldn't use the iPad and charge it at the same time, because the charger couldn't keep up. The 12 watts of power and the heavier gauge of wire used in this charger make that possible now. The 10' cable is also a plus. It's a great item!

I needed a backup adapter
I have apple iPads and needed an extra charging adapter to keep in my travel case. This is the same adapter that came with my iPads. Now I can just grab my travel case and not worry about having a charger adapter for my iPad when I'm on the road. BTW - I'm completely satisfied with this. As it is an Apple power adapter, I don't have to worry about it having the wrong currently capacity or it causing any issues with the warranty. And the price tag was less then going to the Apple store. To me this was a great find.

I was reading some of the reviews, particularly the complaints. First off shipping was on point, I did a comparison on my iPad as far as charging speed. This one charged to 100% 18 minutes faster then the charger it came with. I started both at the point the iPad shut off due to battery power. Secondly, apple does not have a standard cord length. At this point there are three available cords at different lengths. Lastly I’m not an expert on spotting knock offs, but what I do know is this charging set works and I have no complaints. If I could get back the money I’ve spent on buying charging cords over the years I’d be a rich man. I’m damn sure this one will croak just like all the rest after some time because none are life proof. But by then I will have gotten my use and I’ll be back to buy another one. Chris Upstate NY

iPad charger
It just doesn’t seem to be the real deal, sure it has the logos but I’ve owned a lot of Apple products and this plug does even feel like Apple made it. Their plugs click when you open them from the protective slots and the just flop out not even staying put. The weight feels different. I think they’re counterfeit knockoffs. I thought the price was a little too good to be true.

What did I get?
I received this charger today, it was just put into a postage bag, not a big deal that it wasn't in an OEM box, but it was listed as OEM. The bottom of the charger definitely says Apple, perfect. The cable was in a separate baggy with a different brand name. Who cares as long as it charges... The problem is, it doesn't do that. If you wiggle it and set it in a specific position, it will charge, but not always.
