This is a quality spotting scope and just perfect for the range. The 3 levels of magnification are actually continuous, so that you can dial in a very exact magnification to suit any target distance. I didn't bother using the tripod that came with it. I used my own tripod that stand taller. But it's nice to have the short little table tripod. I used it today to watch arrows and bolts on a bag. Worked fantastic. Set the tripod so the view was woomed in to the bag and watched each bolt and arrow with clarity. Even zoomed out and spotted a pheasant at probably 500yds.
