Log Splitter Seal Leak
I purchased a used MTD 25 ton log splitter with a new engine. I went through a couple cords of very knotted and rough wood. I overworked the splitter and when I went to put it away it was leaking hydraulic fluid. I was thinking about taking it to a local shop for repair - but looked on the internet and found the Seal-lube product. If it didn't work, I would only be out a few bucks. I cut another cord of wood and split it this morning after adding Seal-lube. I cleaned up the log splitter and removed any residue left from the previous leak. Seallube stop leak results
This product was new to me. I put it in a 445 John Deere transaxle in December. Maybe the weather is too cold and I didn't run it long enough due to other engine problems or simply too big a leak, but I still get a tablespoon of oil drip in my drip pan. Less drip than before. It doesn't drip every time I start the tractor, only about every other time. Stop oil leaks
I normally do not write any reviews for anybody except for this one.This stuff is amazing!! I was a little apprehensive when buying this stuff. My backhoe had many leaks and I was losing 2 quarts per day, seals are all dryed our I was guessing. Added this sealer and after a few days , leaks have just about all disappeared! it works as advertised!! Really stopped most all hydraulic leaks in just a few short days!! Seal lube stop leak
I have been in automotive repair business over 50 years. I was always a believer in replacing a seal. But after trying this product, I always try it first. Make sure to use correct ratio. Of course it isn’t for paper, cork, gaskets. With a hydraulic system that has a large volume I just calculate the volume for the leaky cylinder and add it directly to the cylinder hose. The exercise it about half stroke several times then let it sit. Two - three days. I suppose if a shaft where the seal rides is worn it may not save it. But worth trying.
