The GP Percussion GOCM Traditional Wood Guiro is 14" long and includes its own scratcher. A slot allows the internal sounds to escape, adding to the fullness. This guiro is designed with finger and thumb holes in the middle and is hollow on one end for sound projection.

Excellent Sound, Live or Recorded
This is a low cost guiro but the sound is more interesting than I get with any of my professional instruments. This guiro has that dry woody, grindy sound you heart on classic Latin rock songs like Steely Dan - Back Jack Do It Again, or Evil Ways. It's not as rugged as an LP steel guiro, but doesn't sound so nasty and brassy. You will need to get right up to the mic with this one. At this price, though, you can by a few spares.
