Long lasting
I switched to these pads many years ago. The Shimano pads that came on my Canondale were pulling aluminum fragments off my rims and would wear rapidly when riding in the rain. The Kool Stop pads are gentle on my rims, stop really well, and don't wear rapidly in wet weather. If it ain't broke, don't change it
I bought these for a 31-year-old bike, a Schwinn Sierra. I figured the brakes were due. Everything else about the bike is original and in great shape. I was shocked when the pads arrived to realize they were identical to the pads I was taking off. One hopes the rubber compound might be improved over the original.
