To me it seems like it doubled the air flow. If you get a little bit of Tobacco or weed in the holes just use a small safety pin to clean it, but its rare. Love it, Pax should make this lid standard. I highly recommend it, I've been using it now for about a month

PAX 2 vented oven lid
This nifty little dohicky is a total game changer to my already perfect PAX 2. The oven lid fits perfectly. The holes provide a smoother, fuller draw. The holes haven't clogged and I haven't noticed any extra odors because of them either. Major improvement! This is a must have accessory!
