Great DIY combo unit
I charged my 1988 911 with r-12 that I also bought on eBay. Everything went as planned the vacuum pump and manifold gauges worked perfectly and I would highly recommend it for auto . I will use it on my residential AC when the occasion arises. the manifold gauges will be fine I don't know if the vacuum pump has enough power To evacuate a 3 1/2 ton unit but it was flawless for my auto

Slightly disappointed!!!
The old saying, "You get what you pay for" is spot on with this product. Although it did the job on my car's a/c, the pump cut off due to overheating after 40 minutes. I had to let the pump cool off and then put a fan on the pump to keep the vacuum going. I would recommend paying a little more money and buying a 1/3 or 1/2 horsepower pump. Also the fittings on the hoses for the manifold gauges will fit the pump but it will not fit the can tap for the Freon. I had to buy a special tool that had a dual fitting to get the Freon into the system once the vacuum was completed. Spend a little more and get a bigger pump and a better set of manifold gauges - if you can afford it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good quality pump. Worked well. Gauges and hoses also feel pretty solid and worked well. Comes with oil for the pump and the case for the gauges and hoses fits them well. Comes with instructions. According to the gauges it pulls a full 30hg vacuum. Works great! Gauges have a open-close function on the connectors which you find on a professional gauge set. The only con is that the low side connector is too big to fit comfortably on my car so I used a different connector. The vacuum pump works great, hoses however, not so great
The gauge set seems to be high quality and made very well so I can assume there are no issues with it at all. The issue is with the hoses that come in the kit. They are super cheap and they all leak like crazy. The fittings on the ends of the hoses spin with very little effort and there's no way the vacuum pump could ever pull and hold a vacuum with the hoses in this kit. If a different brand of hoses were put with the vacuum pump and they didn't leak, then I'd give the kit a 5 star rating. Good A/C tools for not a lot of money.

Low price and gets the job done.
The manifold low side gauge is off and doesn't read properly. I don't know how to calibrate it. But the guages do show when it pulls a vacuum, the high side will show -30 and the low side shows -15 and they will hold the same vacuum readings overnight. the manifold quick couplers go on and off fairly easy, just remember to turn the couplers to the off position before putting them on or taking them off. And if the car runs for a long time and everything gets hot, wait for a few minutes for everything to cool down before trying to disconnect the fittings. It helps to put a little PAG oil on the couplers to make them easier to get on or off. I have used the vacuum pump on 3 different cars and it has worked great. It has run for a total of about 10 hours with no problems. I use an extra fan blowing on it to help cool it as it gets pretty hot without some extra air.The price for this vacuum pump and manifold gauge set is cheaper than Harbor Freight and I didn't have to drive to the store or pay shipping charges. i recommend this unit for its performance and its low cost, that's why I give it 5 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good gauges but needs more parts
The description leads you to believe that you were buying a complete unit. After evacuating my system I went to connect the vacuum hose to my refrigerant can and realized the connector does not fit. I had to buy a whole nother yellow hose with a connector to attach the R134a can. The gauges themselves are nice quality and the vacuum pump works good but not having the attachment for the refrigerant makes this an incomplete set.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
