Geratherm Thermometer Review
This thermometer works good, but is difficult to read. If you rotate it back and forth while reading it will magnify the fluid line at the correct angle. The fluid line is very thin and hard to see otherwise, so I would not recommend it for elderly people with vision impairments. It seems to read a lot faster than an old style mercury thermometer. We used it to check the accuracy on our battery powered electronic thermometers. It also does not require batteries to work, which makes it more reliable long term in my opinion.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointed
This arrived with the blue line at the top. Several of us who are used to the old mercury themometers tried shaking it down but could not. Took temperature with it anyway in case 2nd line came up but no. Tried calibrating it with ice water, warm water, swinging it in a sock as someone in another review recommended but nothing changed. Just a waste of effort and money. I saw the other reviews saying the same but figured they must have been a fluke. Nope. Safe and Accurate
I used to own an old mercury thermometer. After it broke in the car, it was a real pain to clean up, not mention scary because we had to buy a special product to clean the whole interior of the car. I vowed not to use that kind of thermometer again, but didn't really trust my digital one to be accurate as it merely estimates. So when I found this one, I was overjoyed! Good simple thermometer

Good functioning thermometers. Easy to read and best of all: Doesn't need batteries.
I've utilized these in Medic bags for field use for years. When everybody's battery-powered thermometers fail, we have these as an backup. These are a higher quality design and though they can be broken similar to other old-school glass thermometers, they come with a good protective plastic carrying case. Very compact and lightweight. Easy to read and easy to clean. Uses a non-mercury fluid, that appears to work the same. If I could only have one thermometer for field use, I would take this one. NOT DEPENDABLE FOR ACCURACY.
This Geratherm Thermometer is NOT ACCURATE. I have tried it several times and the results are always the same - almost three (3) degrees off. Had I known this prior I wouldn't have bought it.
