As long as there is a computer/laptop to hook up the duplicator to, this USB 2.0 external interface provides the user available convenience to create a master optical disc wherever the duplicator is located at.
Since Copystars can't be bothered to write anything about this product, you're left to try to figure it out yourself. A painful search of their website will turn up a USB 2.0 version with this exact picture AND two USB 3.0 versions with this exact same picture. And the product descriptions are either one or two sentences long.
The two USB3 product descriptions say: "When switch to USB mode , ISO file can be drag directly into the duplicator's hard drive and burn directly from there. Very easy to upgrade your product with great titles management and save time for creation of master discs."
This is flat out not true of this card.
All product descriptions also say: "External USB bridge board for duplicator set the first CD/DVD target drive as an external CD/DVD burner for your computer."
This is not true either. My burning software does not see any of my duplicator burners when attached to this card.
On my computer the HDD in the duplicator can be seen and formatted with this card over the USB3 cable, but it won't then be recognized by the Copystars duplicator (I've tried every known format). Formatting the drive with the duplicator makes it unrecognizable by the computer. So, file transfer is thus impossible.
So in short, this card does nothing of value. It's clearly not defective, just pointless.
