You get what you pay for
Those cheap $10 charge controllers are fine if you're only using a 100-w panel if you have 400 w Ithis is the charge controller for you I even recommend it if you are a beginner with a 100 watt solar panel those cheap chargers get hot and melt and can cause a fire if you put too many panels on them although they say they are 100 amp this thing here is very well built this is my second one the first one I accidentally hooked it up wrong and damaged it I had the first one quite a while this does not heat up and the wires going to it do not get boiling hot be careful not to exceed 30 amps I think the most you can put on this one are 5100 watt panels but it is very durable the holes and terminals are big enough to get a heavier wire in them it's a fantastic unit for the price you will burn up two or three of them cheap ones and this one will Outlast them all way to go new powa
