Won't Crack
The heavy steel construction will make this grate last for years. Cast iron grates usually crack when used in a hot fire. This grate will not crack. Also, this grate can be lowered by cutting the legs shorter for a custom fit into your stove or fireplace.

Stove grate
The grate is really well built, but the flatness of the steel doesn't allow bigger ash to fall through and the height is a bit too short. I have a big Buck stove so it take a bit of work to keep a good fire going with this grate. It does however hold up well to a wood or coal fire.
