Best Hummer Feeders on the market!

The best hummer feeders on the market! Easy to take the bottom apart to clean and the wide mouth makes it easy to clean with hot water and fill. I use a disposable mascara brush to clean the drinking spouts if they get a little grim. The glass jar type feeders are too hard to clean inside the jar and you can't take the bottoms apart to clean! The hummers love these First Nature Feeders the best. I average 10-15 hummers feeding and flying around each of these feeders during the fall migration in south Louisiana. I mix 4 parts water to 1 part sugar, I use purified or spring water that I boil first. I noticed that boiling helps it not to sour as fast. I only put about 1cup in these feeders when there aren't a lot of hummers around (starting in mid March). But during fall migration which starts mid September I fill at least 2 of these every night and they are empty the next night! Hope this helps you in your selection of a hummer feeder. You won't regret your purchase!

Some good points some bad points -- you decide.

I live on a major flyway and have been feeding hummingbirds for quite a few years. We put out 7 feeders and often go through more than a gallon of nectar a day, so I've got some experience. Some of our feeders are deteriorating and need replacing so I decided to give this one a try. I've found pluses and minuses with it. On the plus side, it has many feeding ports. We often have every port filled at every feeder with more birds waiting, so more ports are better for us. The birds also seem to prefer it over some of our other feeders. Another plus is low price, so buying a bunch of feeders is not a big expense. I also like that the base can be disassembled for cleaning. That is definitely a positive. Finally, there aren't any little flowers or other fancy doo-dads to eventually break off. One negative is that it is very light weight because it's all plastic. I learned that this was a negative when we had high winds recently and this feeder got whipped around, splashing nectar all over our deck. Our other feeders have glass bottles and are heavier, so they don't get blown around as much. Another negative for me is the wide mouth bottle. For me, this means I must either wait until the feeder is completely empty before refilling or, if it's not, either throw out some perfectly good nectar or else get nectar all over me and everything else trying to reassemble a partially fully feeder. This feeder must absolutely be completely empty before refilling unless you want a hand full of nectar. With narrow-mouth bottles I'm able to reassemble them even when they're partially full and not spill a drop. This makes life easier for me because I can refill all feeders at the same time whether they're empty or not. Of course, some people will like the wide mouth for ease of cleaning but I've never had problems cleaning the narrow-mouth bottles by filling them with bleach water and letting them soak. One last slight negative is the hook that comes with this. I didn't even bother using it as I knew that it would not hold in any kind of wind. I just fashioned my own hook out of wire and it has worked out fine. Anyway, I'll probably go back to the narrow-mouth glass bottle feeders I've been using. However, if your requirements are different than mine, then this is a perfectly good feeder that does have a lot going for it and I would highly recommend it.

  • THE Hummingbird Feeder

If you are looking for a fancy expensive bird feeder that doesn't attract birds, buy somewhere else. I tried other feeders but the birds didn't come. The first year I bought this feeder, within 1 day I had 2 birds fighting over it. Other birds came. One became a bully. He would chase the others off. So, I put another feeder on the other side of the house. Next thing I new there were 10 birds. At the end of the summer, I had bought 5 more feeders. There were 30 birds of all different beautiful colors. I kept the feeders going until the last bird left for the winter. The following year most of the birds came back. The pack really grew! Here is my secret: buy this feeder; Pick a good location to hang it. They love arbors with Morning Glory vines, or patio covers with flowers, even artificial ones. Use a long strong wire hook, about 9" min. Use a float to keep ants out.; Do not use colored water. Best food they love = dissolve 1 cup sugar/quart tap water. Have fun!

  • Very best feeder

I’ve been feeding hummingbirds for 40 years and have tried numerous feeders. I’ve used this type exclusively for the past 10 years. The birds like them, they’re easy to clean, and they hold up well. (I’m still using the ones that are ten years old!) Note: Be sure to clean with vinegar and NOT detergent. If mold has grown, add a few drops of bleach to clear water and let it sit in the feeder for an hour. Then, rinse thoroughly.

  • Good Value

Easy to clean/refill and comes with good information for making the nectar. The size is questionable as replenishing the fluids is suggested every 48-72 hours to ensure cleanliness for the birds and the utilization is limited as one bird feeds at any given time. The multi-ports may be unnecessary as the birds in my area are territorial and I haven't seen more than one bird at the feeder at a time with the "Home Bird" dive bombing interlopers. There are quite a few hummingbirds in my area (Chicago suburbs) and The birds have a lot of natural nectar to choose from in the gardens but are regularly at this feeder.

  • Very well made. Hummingbirds love this feeder. Favorite for them. Easy for them to eat.

The design makes it easy for the hummingbirds to drink from. I have purchased other styles and designs, but this type seems to be a favorite for them. They always tend to go directly to these feeders.

  • Great product

I have bought this brand for many years. It's easy to handle, fill and clean. The only con is the label that's wrapped around the new bottle has a very strong adhesive. It's hard to clean off. ... At least it was for me. Happy Birding!

  • Great Feeder for Multiple Hummers

We have about 25-30 hummingbirds who regularly eat at our Las Vegas home. We were constantly refilling the smaller (16 ounce) feeders and these large, sturdy feeders keep our hummers happy and fed with a lot less effort. They are easy to clean before filling and look attractive hanging in the yard.

  • Hummer feeder

This is one of the best hummer feeders I’ve ever had, it never leaks and has large capacity, this is all I use because of the quality ; no leaks, easy to take apart and clean, and very hardy !! I have several other feeders, but due to leakage of sugar water, hard to clean, I’m not going to use if I don’t have too, I’ve just decided to go with the best, and anyone reading this should also !!

  • The only one I'll buy.

I have bought5 of these feeders.. Three got dug away buy raccoons . My fault I left them on the porch . I purchased a Glass one that had the attached flowers with it. Very pretty but my hummingbirds didn't like it. They would fight over one like this one. They couldn't perch on it to drink . I made a perch for them out of copper wire they tired it but wasn't thick enough and they didn't seem to like the flowers on it. I purchased this one so I could have another like the one I already had that the hummingbirds and the raccoons both like. I have a lot of hummingbirds they still fight but they all have room on these and they perch can perch. I have 5 families of humming birds some just don't like to share. I will probably be buying several more to make them happy. This one is the Best for my hummingbirds and I can only find them online any more.
