  • Great for removing textured ceilings

I used it to sand textured (stippled) ceilings. It works with Aleko 9 inch 10 hole sanding discs. The 80 grit works well for removing the texture. You can sand most of it off, then fill the rest with a skim coat of drywall joint compound, if you want a smooth ceiling. DON"T SAND DOWN TO THE PAPER ON THE DRYWALL. I left most of it with a light texture, then painted it with ceiling white paint. The motor gets hot after 15 minutes of use. I would take a break, and let it cool down. Also, my arms needed a rest too. I would not recommend this for commercial use, but a DIY homeowner is what it is intended for. Had to use some foam rubber to adapt the vacuum hose to my shop vac.

  • 8" wall sander.

I bought this to do a lot of plaster crack repairs in my house which is over 100 years old. Couple of things though, first is the vacuum attachment. The hose of the sander does not fit either of the shop vac hoses I have, so I had to find something to adapt the hose to the sander. Another item is it comes with 1 sanding pad of multiple grits. I ended up having to order more sanding discs online as I could not find more of the same size locally. As mentioned I am fixing many walls for plaster cracks. Taping and spackling the cracks still require sanding, which this does well including vacuuming with the adapter I got to a point. What it does not do is if you spackle one day and sand the next it will not sand the repair absolutely smooth regardless of the grit sanding disc used. It will bring it down close but not sand it smooth. I have a 5" random orbital sander with vacuuming attachment that I use after this one to finish smoothing out the repairs. The pair of sanders do a very good job that neither does alone. By itself, this sander leaves some things to be desired. Combine it with a smaller one and between the two they do a good job.
