Solves an annoying flaw in an otherwise great product
The markup is very high on this solution, but it is all relative. This variable switch fails consistently on an expensive, and otherwise duable, machine. Better to spend $20 than hundreds on a new mixer. I applaud making a living on filling a niche solution. Exact replacement part
This is the exact replacement part I needed in order to repair my Vita Mix VM103. It arrived on time and was carefully packaged and delivered. It included the necessary mounting hardware. Installation takes only a few minutes. In order to install this part, the Kitchen Aid base unit must be opened up. To do so, remove the four screws that are hidden under the rubber mat atop the base unit. Then carefully separate the top and bottom halves of the base unit. Use the Allen wrench to remove the speed control knob from the old potentiometer, revealing the mounting nut. Remove the nut with a 1.2" socket wrench or a pliers to release the old potentiometer. Install the new potentiometer and re-assemble the base unit and re-install the speed knob. Before operating the machine, make sure the drive shaft turns freely and isn't binding on the rubber mat.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Restored my Classic VitaMix to new working conditioner.
Got my @2005 Vita-Mix working like new again. This keeps it from revving up too fast. Been using this machine regularly with the Nama J2(juicer) ...Just made green smoothie and tomato basil soup with my newly restored Vitamix. Part was very easy to install. As a footnote I ordered the new A2300 w/food processor and returned it after side by side comparison with my restored Vitamix 5000. Get the new part and maybe yours will run like a new one!

My VitaMix 5200 works fine. Hopefully, I'll not need do this again. The OEM part is black and bears the name Bourns. It had two wires coming off the side, one nearer the corner-top and one in the middle. The wiring inside the 5200 is a challenge. I traced the corner-top wire to go with the bottom circuit board pin connector. This replacement part is wired with two wires off the corners. Visioning both parts installed to the panel, I treated the top wire as if the same and plugged accordingly.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Inexpensive solution
Half the price of OEM but not the same dimensions as the original from my Vita-Mix 5000. It fits good enough but at lower settings it pulsates rather than running steady. Higher settings from 7 on up it worked great.
