I would highly recommend both items.
The VHS video head cleaner, made a difference in sound, and picture quality. The crystal window screen, and glass cleaner, by Fuller Brush, did a wonderful job, in cleaning windows, especialy if you have a two story house. didn't really work
It is possible that the VCR was the problem but since it takes tapes fine I don't think so. I put this cleaner tape in and the VCR shut off after a few seconds. It took a couple times to get it to go for longer. Then when I ejected it the cleaner ribbons was streched out and hadn't gone around like you think it would. Not satisfied but not worth the cost to return it. You are better off doing the work of taking the player apart and manually cleaning it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Stared copying old tapes from old VCR to my PC and got message the heads needed to be cleaned. The VCR had been in a drawer for at least 10 years. Only heaven knows when heads were last cleaned.
