Easy fix to dryer with a bad timer.
The internal gear on the motor is nylon. It dries out and strips or cracks. Typical local appliance stores might charge about $115 for this switch. Getting it online (new, not used), for around $70 saves a lot of money. It's easy to change out, I recommend always buying this switch "new". A used switch may be ready to break, and you have no idea how "used" it is.
