This adapter worked will in Microsoft Windows eg- 10. Worked on Kali Linux, however didn't work on my Raspberry pi 2 which ran Open-Wrt and Ubuntu Mate. Couldn't find the updated supporting drivers for raspberry pi. Also no drivers are provided with the device. Works on windows with Realtek rtl8153 drivers- downloadable. NIC constantly disconnects -- unusable with usb 3.0
Was looking forward to using this product. However it doesn't work with any usb 3.0 connection. Constantly disconnects and is unusable. Could only get it to work with external usb 2.0 hub on a Windows 10 64bit desktop. With a notebook running same OS I couldn't get it to work at all. I tried 3 or 4 different drivers also. Realtek Chipset Gigabit Ethernet Dongle
I have successfully used this dongle with conventional devices and Chrome devices. It takes a little more time for this device to be announced to ChromeOS, but it WILL be recognized. This dongle incorporates the Realtek chipset, and this supports 9 kiB "jumbo" frames, whereas competitive dongles support 2 kiB "jumbo" frames. I bought one, liked it, and then bought two more. A "repeat buy" is certainly my strong recommendation of a product! I use these on Chromebooks and other devices which either have no Ethernet port at all, or only a 10/100 Ethernet port. Solid built / works great
After finding the appropriate drivers on the internet for my Macbook Pro, this device works great. Connected via USB 3 gives reasonable Gigabit speeds. The device driver is also very good at recognising insert/removal of the device and connections come up quickly. My only real wish would be that the device were a bit physically smaller. Ethernet where are you?
The perfect fit for a computer on which you've upgraded the OS and the on board Ethernet connection lost its driver. (Yes Dorthy, it happens). Plug this in, go on line, get a driver update program and fix the original problem. Cheap and easy adapter
Windows 10 by default has a working driver so just plug it in and it works. Speed is about 970Mb/s which with overhead etc. is as close to 1Gb/s as you can expect a cheap adapter to go and is more than enough anyway.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great backup plan
