Effective, but just "okay"
In the past, I would purchase expanding fiolders a bit wider than these at the Walmart store. Since it was easier to find THIS style/brand on-line, I tried one 10-pack. They are not as wide in expansion as what I am accustomed to, but they ARE more effective than simple, thin manilla folders. As with the others, I often reinforce the bottoms and sides with packaging tape. I will do the same with these, of course.

These are not the double expandable manilla folders, they are only the single ones. I have older ones which can hold half a ream, but these only hold a quarter of a ream
