    Pocket Guide

This is a handy book to keep in your pocket when hunting for rocks in the outdoors. It provides pictures and information that are very useful and helps to identify many rocks. It's perfect for beginners and advanced rock hunters who need a quick reference while enjoying their hobby.

    Not Bad.

This book wasn't what I expected. I expected this book to be more like the Peterson guides. It didn't tell what states the rocks and minerals were found in as well as what kind of rocks the metals and gems were found in, or with. That is why I bought the North America guide, so I could search for them in my area of the US. For some reason it did not list turquoise, which is in my state and I wanted to look for it. I guess I will find another book that is more what I want.

  • Nice book for those with a minor interest in rocks and minerals. One section devoted to landforms rather than rocks and minerals.

Not as comprehensive as I had hoped.
