    Great Tablet Until...

I had a Nexus 7 (2013) Model, 32GB. The latest update rendered my tablet unusable. I purchased this one as a replacement. The OS on this one is Android 5.1. It keep notifying me of another update which I ignore because I don't wanna brick this one. ASUS nor Google admits that their OTA OS updates are rendering the Nexus 7 (2013) models unusable/bricked. Battery life is horrendous. I guess it's time to invest in another tablet manufacturer. I'm done with ASUS.

    Ok tablet

Screen quality is very good but the tablet touch sensitivity is not the best - very "stiff" and non-responsive. I bought this for my elderly mom to play games and use Google Now and Translate so the lack of SD card is not a big deal. It would be for me if I were using it.

  • Simply the best combination of features

Nexus 7 2013 (2nd generation). Overall these are the best. I have two of these. They run Android 6.0.1 OS, which runs every other app i have downloaded with no problem. They are the right size for easy carry, the screen is great, the camera is not high def but I use my phone's camera anyway. The only things I have found that are less-than-perfect are: 1) the charging port is fragile. One of mine still charges on the wire but not reliably - so I bought a wireless charger which works perfectly and is even easier and more convenient than charging with the wire. 2) the accelerator on the same tablet also sometimes does not work, which means it does not know when i change from portrait to landscape - so i found an app that changes the orientation manually and that works fine when i need it.

  • Still a top 7" tablet

This is still a top tablet and a great buy, even though it debuted in 2013. Super high resolution screen - fast processor, excellent support. Only down side is that memory is not expandable. Convenient size gives big enough screen for movie viewing or gaming, and still small/slender enough to fit in many pockets. For me, a can't go wrong option for a 7" tablet. when I crushed mine with a hatchback gate in the dark, I replaced it with the same model, even though there were many new options for 7" sized tablets on the market since 2013.

  • Great little tablet

Had one of these before but my wife claimed it to play games on; so, I went out and bought another since I liked my first one so much. Wife also has two Kindle's, but I'll take the Nexus 7 any day! Can't go wrong as far as price and features go.

  • good little table for the price

works well, does all i need. a little disappointed with the speakers there very quiet at full volume hard to hear. must be in a place without background noise will drown out the sound. other then that its a very good tablet. using headphones with the tablet is the best way to hear the sound.

  • Nexus 7 Gen 2 - Great Tablet

The ASUS Nexus 7 2nd Gen is still a great tablet. It updates to the latest Android release with no issues. Loaded with features including BlueTooth and dual band wireless. I use it on a 5G router and it performs flawlessly. The screen quality is great. And with built in ChromeCast, it displays on my HD TV in true High Definition. The only thing lacking is a micro SD slot. But this can be gotten around with an adapter to allow you to plug in a USB Flash drive. I've connected one with 64 Gig and have no trouble using it for data storage of any kind. There are newer, more expensive tablets out there, but the Nexus 7 Gen 2 is still a viable contender

  • One of the best tablets ever made.

This tablet has never let me down, it has the power to browse and run apps smoothly, gets the latest updates directly from google, no bloatware. It is just the right size to present things well but not be awkward to hold.

  • Nice Tablet

I use this for one specific task, and it seems to work pretty well. The battery life is good, but not fantastic, and it's very slow to charge. The screen looks great, and it compares well to my 4th gen iPad.

  • Older is sometimes better.

It is too bad that tech products are always advancing. This Google tablet is great. My first tablet was the first nexus 7, and I loved that one too. My kids broke the screen, so I had to find something else. I did not want a bigger screen, because then you lose the portability factor. 7-inch tablets fit in my inside jacket pocket, and this one paired with a compact case I found even fits in the back pocket of some of my jeans. The problem with current 7-inch tablets is that they are generally low-priced and lacking in screen resolution and processing power. The resolution on this screen is really nice, noticeably better than other 7-inch tablets we have used. The processor is also fast enough to keep up with games and loads apps and web pages quickly. I should probably buy a spare before these HD Nexus 7s can not be found.
