Awesome Microphone.
Awesome microphone, I have a ICOM 746Pro and researched through ICOM of America website that this microphone would work with my radio. Now there was one thing, it has the modular plug and mine has the ROUND 8 pin plug so that will need changing. Again through ICOM of America, I emailed them for the schematic of the mike and they responded within hours, wow fast service. Once I received the schematic, the rest was easy. I already had a spare 8 pin round connector in my junk box, you can probably get one here on eBay if you need one. So I lopped off the modular plug and installed the 8 pin, Now you must be able to use a soldering iron and some mechanical skills or let someone else do it for you. I have received great reports on the audio using this mike, the output is adjustable on the bottom of the mike but I left it where it was when I received it, about center of the adjustment pot. I have been told that this mike sounds much more natural than the stock hand held mike that comes with the 746 Pro, which is the HM36. I really like the SM 26 I like the design and the way it looks and its function. It has a Lock button, if you are really long winded :) and a monitor button, which I don't use and of course the Push to talk. Do I recommend it, you Betcha!
