Arcticfox is tank simulation in which one must avoid and demolish all kinds of alien attackers. The action takes place in remote arctic locations from a first-person view. Enemies and structures are 3D wire-frames. Before the action commences, one can view a list of all enemies and choose between various modes such as Training, Beginner, and Tournament. While the Training mode is no-frills practice for novices, the Beginner mode is a little more serious and features more action. When the Arcticfox is destroyed in this mode, the action ceases and you'll have to start over. On the other hand, the Tournament is for seasoned veterans. This mode is an all-out assault with alien forces. In all modes, there is a HUD around the field of view that contains location coordinates, the tank's current speed, a radar, and missile and structure information. The radar contains information on the location of alien forces. When an alien has made an unwelcome appearance, blast him. The fire button launches missiles towards the foe, and there is a short delay as the missiles are guided and must lock-on. Once the missile has landed on its target, that alien is toast. Just make sure it's fully destroyed before moving onto the next attacker. There are all kinds of aliens to demolish, such as various sized tanks, reconnaissance sleds, radar stations, immobile rocket launchers, and airborne aircraft. The latter will soar around the tank and launch destructive missiles towards it. While the recon sleds aren't armed, these baddies will send radio messages to other aliens. There are also air converters to raze and mines to avoid. When all the enemies on the current level have been demolished, the mission is complete.
