Assembly in winter.
Well, here in the midwest, it's been about 10 degrees F for days. So I assembled my Christmas Agri Fab 45-0288 Drop Spreader in my living room!! Stood upright, you, or better, you and a friend, can easily carry it out the door. It arrived quickly, mostly assembled, & was packed well. You really only need a small socket set & a couple of wrenches. The instructions were another matter. Printed in some 20 languages, be prepared to rely on the (rather small) pictures as your guide. I had to use a magnifying glass. There are only a few very brief paragraghs in any language in the whole manual. But lettered arrows point to where each part goes, section by section. The letters refer to actual size represenations of each part. It does take a bit of intuition in spots. One point to note, is you may need to adjust the ferrules attached to the spreaders drop cover. It opens & closes according to the size, & amount of material you wish to spread. It's quite easy to adjust. Assembled it looks as good as the photo's. Thick walled & sturdy It should last me for years, if I simply clean and oil it after each use.

Product is just what I hoped. Everything appears to be good quality. Assembly manual could have been better, they really should spend a little extra and revise it, or do their own YouTube video. I have only used once, and then had to make adjust so it would spread evenly on both sides of spreader. I have not used to see if adjustment worked, but guessing yes. That adjustment procedure could have been in manual. There are four stop tabs on release door, that you can use to measure opening, and I used them to adjust door so it opened evenly. All that said, still good product for the price.

Solid, efficient and handles the job!
Well made and fairly simple for one person to put together. After lubricating all moving parts, I calibrated using one bag of lime on each side. One of the sides discharged faster than the other, so a adjustment was made to the dowel and then re-tested. All even spreading from there until the end! Good stuff and exceptional coverage when compared to the throw spreader type.

I like the product, no problems so far after 1 week.
I think the manual could have done a better job describing the assembly but I didn't really have any problems figuring it out. The valve stems were facing out on this unit. I see where others complained because theirs came with the stems facing inward. Maybe someone at Agri-fab was listening. It's not a big deal to reverse them anyway, it only takes a minute. I've only had it 1 week, but I can see it is well made. I used it to spread powered lime and I did not have any problems with it clogging. In the past I have used other spreaders for powered lime and had clogging problems but I think it was probably caused by how fine the lime was screened. All powdered lime are not sreened to the same degree. The lawn was dry and the lime was dry so that was important. I know Agri-fab does not recommend using it for this purpose but like I stated, I did not have any problems. I am happy so far.

Long Search Comes to an End at the Right Price,
I am disabled so I find it very difficult to use my push spreader. I have always been a fan of drop spreaders that could attach to my riding lawnmower, but most were too expensive, Upon glancing at the ebay pages I noticed the spreader I wanted at a lower price than advertised by all other dealers I had found. The spreader was exactly what I wanted at a fair price, delivery included and the carton was placed on the front porch out of the rain. I am most happy with the dealer and will use him again should the need arise.Thank you ebay and everyone involved with getting me my spreader.

Good spreader for feed plots and other large plantings
I planed about 5 acres of wheat and oats on some rather hilly property, pulling this spreader behind my compact tractor. The seed spread evenly, the spreader negotiated the hills and slopes well, and when I shut off the drop, the spreader spread no more seed. If I could change anything about this spreader, I suggest more informationon be provided by the manufacturer about seeding/spreading rates rather than the VERY general information provided on the body of the spreader itself.
