Preserve the spirit of the French bumbler in the person of Hrundi V. Bakshi, an accident-prone Indian actor. Brought to Hollywood to play the title role in SON OF GUNGA DIN, Bakshi destroys the film's most elaborate set with his bungling and is banned from the set by the film's producer.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. Peter Sellers is phenomenal and was the perfect actor for this movie. I saw it on TCM earlier this year and decided it must be in my collection. I searched for it and found a DVD on eBay which I got a great deal on. But then I later found a Blu-ray version (again on eBay) that I had no idea was available on this format. I loaded it in my Oppo 103D and was literally blown away by the high quality of the video AND audio! The difference between the DVD and Blu-ray is stunning. The Blu-ray version also has 6 special features included. If you can find one on Blu-ray I would not hesitate and buy it. I believe the Blu-ray cost me a little over $20 shipped but would pay even more if I had to do it again.
