One of the best debut albums of all time.
There's a reason why this is considered one of the top 1001 albums of all time. "1001 albums to hear before you die" This was Kanye West's debut album which had gone through some serious challenges to get this out, let alone to get west signed to a credited record label. This album goes over many views of this world. West raps about not just college and the impact it may or may not have on one's future. (skits). He raps about Jesus and religion (Jesus walks). He raps about family and the importance of being close with your family (family business) He hits so many controversial points in the United States and does it in a gracious flow you just want to keep listening. He uses covers from older songs (Aretha Franklin) and also talks about the fact we need older music to still enjoy life (slow jamz). The CD arrived much earlier than expected and was exactly as described. The actual CD does have a few dents within the center ring, making it a bit hard to put it back in its case, but the disc still works.
