This is a fun 90's LEGO set. If you are a big Rock Raiders fan you will want this set.
The two included figures—one male, one female—have highly detailed printing for the time they were molded. The main vehicle is chunky and has a durable feel, except for the two antennae at the front and the four headlights on the sides (they are prone to being knocked off during play). The magnetic pick-up feature is satisfying. The hovercraft port in the back of the vehicle leaves something to be desired though; it would have been nice if a minifigure could sit on the hovercraft while it is docked. Also, the docking bay is highly specialized—meaning that once the hoverboard is removed, the space becomes practically useless (one could remove the two gray slope bricks to accommodate more uses). The small digger is durable and basically perfection (although one could add a steering wheel to the front). The large dark-gray bucket works well and in this set carries two ore with brickonium and two dynamite, still leaving plenty of space for adding more items.. One can easily "fly" this vehicle from bookshelf to table picking-up or dropping-off all the various things that are included in this set.
Overall this is a good, fun set. The market for this set is a little pricey today because of certain specialty parts that come with it. That being said, if you shop around for long enough you should be able to find a deal. If it is worth the money to you, this set has my recommendation.
