Keeps the mess off.
The greatly reduces the road grime from getting on the engine. I have seen other reviews speaking about this causing fender damage. Thus far I have no such damage. My suggestions are that you throughly clean the fender and extension before attaching. Where the 3 M adhesive comes in contact with the parts take some scotch brite and scuff the area then clean again. I did my cleaning with alcohol. Test fit the extension making sure the bolts line up exactly where they need to be. I used some small clamps and a soft cloth to keep from damaging the surface. It came out great.
