I had never heard of this brand before I did a search for "best detergent for hand washing clothes." I discovered a NY Times review which placed Soak at its number one spot. (Who doesn't trust the Times?) I was a little put-off by the price, but the review stated that it was actually less expensive per wash than Woolite. I have never cared for Woolite; it takes FOREVER to rinse it out and I've never cared much for the scent.
After using it for the first time, I was quite frankly amazed. And it takes a lot to amaze me these days! There are several scents from which to choose so I cannot speak to any of the other ones, but the Yuzu scent is just lovely. One teaspoon in my bathroom sink was enough to wash one tankini top, two swim bottoms, and one rayon blouse. (One at a time of course.) I followed the instructions to soak for 15 minutes, gently squeeze the item, and hang or lay flat to dry, depending on the care label on the garment. And that was IT! NO RINSING NEEDED!
It sounds silly to say this about a simple item like Soak, but it literally changed my life: I will wear the clothes that require hand-washing FAR more often, and I will never balk at purchasing an item because it's hand-wash only ever again. It's THAT good.
