PROS and CONS
Years ago I changed my lawn over to Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. My lawn does look nicer than my neighbors lawn because I fertilize with Milorganite [1 bag for every 1000 square feet] and put 5 ounces of Iron Sulfate for every 1000 square feet to get a dark green lawn [I mix 5 ounces of Iron Sulfate in a 5 gallon bucket with 2 gallons of hot/warm water; Then pour it through a strainer into my 2 gallon pump sprayer]. One summer [here in Roseville, Minnesota] I didn't water my lawn letting it go dorment; The lawn actually died, the brown grass blew away eventually and all that was left was brown dirt. I had to re-seed once again. You must water Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass or it will die completely. The past years I always got White Powdery Mildew and Lawn Rust [which turns my lawn mower red. I have to wash it to remove the red Lawn Rust from the lawn mower. When cutting the lawn with Lawn Rust it creates a red smoke/dust that collects on the lawn mower]. I use Daconil fungicide to remove those diseases.
