  • Good all all-rounder for daytime.

I am enjoying this all rounder for daytime use. I usually ride around on a motorcycle and not having to change lenses in questionably dusty conditions to get the focal length I need is a plus. Nikon D750. Not super sharp in all situations but sharp enough for my use. I am getting more shots not having to change lenses when I might otherwise just decide to keep the camera in it's bag.

  • Not cheap, but for me, worth the $...

I purchased this used, but remarkably clean example for $376.00, Dec. 2018. I was looking for something w/extended range to rival the Canon 24-105mm L lens as an all-purpose walk-around lens to fill a whole in my inventory for an older, but minty, Canon 1DS MKII.. (I also use a more modern Canon 80D). I have the 2nd gen. Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 (A009?, you'll need a crane & truss for use w/the 1DS MKII), Tamron 100-400mm (nice, lightweight, long lens) and a Canon 70-200mm f/4 (always great). This Tamron 28-300mm 3.5-6.3 PZD Di VC for Canon does the job admirably and is remarkably smaller & weighs less than the venerable 24-105mm, too..!! Sharpness, color, contrast are in there at all apertures.. What is also pleasantly surprising is it's accurate, fast, low light auto focus ability, something I didn't expect.. Rev. Dustin Abbot reviewed this lens positively, accurately and enthusiastically. His review convinced me to find one.. (I ALWAYS check with Rev. Abbott & Christopher Frost to see if they have a review). This PZD version isn't cheap, but after trying the less expensive (junk), disappointing and horrendously unusable earlier LD version (I was trying to save $), I must say that I am now a Happy Camper. When I upgrade to a newer full frame camera, this lens will remain in my inventory. It's a lot of fine glass for the $.

  • The best 28-300mm ever.

This the best 28-300mm I've ever used. It's smaller, lighter and much cheaper than Canon's obsolescent equivalent, with action just stiff enough to keep it from "flopping" out to 300mm when it'd hanging around my neck. Focus is fast and sure.

  • Good lens for a casual travel

I compared this with Nikon’s 28-300 and decided to go with Tamron. Size, weight and price were the key factors for me. I use prime lenses for most photos. When I go for a short trip, I need a all around lens that doesn’t get in a way. Tamron does a better job in that regard, as it is more compact and lightweight. Image is sharp and AF is fast. For the price it takes very nice photos. There is a lot of distortion like other zoom lenses, so be ready to use Lightroom to correct it. That’s one downside over Nikon lens, as we cannot use the in-camera correction. Not a deal breaker for me. Get it for what it is for and you won’t be disappointed.

  • A pleasant surpirse

Amazing performance on a Nikon D750 for such a light weight zoom. I could not be more pleased. Keep in mind. It is a super zoom, so do expect prime lens performance.
