    Good opener, minor drawbacks

    I've owned Swing-A-Way before so I expected this to be a great can opener when I ordered it. The handles are long and comfortable. The foldable crank handle makes it easy to fit in a drawer. The crank turns easily and lids are easy to pierce. The biggest caution is that when the lid is completely removed there remains a sharp point on the can itself. I have cats who don't mind hopping into the recycling bin to clean out any cans that may entice them. For this reason I must be extra careful to either not remove the lid completely or to go back and forth over the sharp point once or twice to completely remove it. Another minor complaint is that after washing and drying there are small rust stains on the edges of the opener.

    PERFECT for RA sufferers!!

    I am 36 and work in a restaurant. I was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. It takes me forever to open commercial size cans with a normal hand turn opener.     My third Swing-A-Way.

    Great opener, makes life easy on us oldtimers. Controls the can and takes little effort to crank. I personally don't like the folding knob, but it isn't a bad problem. Maybe if I shopped I would have found they still sell one without the folding knob. My first one took forever to wear out. My second one rusted up like they forgot to plate the pivot pins. Still worked fine, just looked bad in a couple of places. Used it for many years, it finally started getting tight in the pivots. I will definiitely buy another one if I live long enough to wear out this one. A great product.
