Good design, works well for my application
I've had this in service for almost 3 years. I use it for holding experimental antennas. Raising and lowering it was easy at first, requiring only enough strength to grasp the mast and push it up. Now it’s a little more difficult, possibly due to some deformation of the tubes due to turning the clamps too tight. It has survived a couple scary windstorms without guys (the antennas have had very little wind area; the largest has been a 5-element Yagi-Uda for 6m). None of the clamps has worked loose. At each joint, there are holes through which one can push a bolt or pin when extended to hold the inner pipe in extension. The inner pipes have notches in them. By aligning the notches with the bolts, one can prevent the pipes from rotating with respect to each other. I have found that it’s important to balance the antenna at the top of this mast. When unbalanced, the antenna tries to lean towards the heavy side of the antenna which causes pressure between the inner and outer pipes, making it very difficult to raise and lower the sections.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
