Does what it needs to do for a great price.

This adapter is very affordable and it functions well (it doesn't have much to do). One minor defect is the fit of the hex key (Allen wrench) in the adjustment screws holding the threaded, M42 portion of the adapter (two of my four Fotasy adapters needed the alignment adjusted when received). The hex key appears to be too small for the hex sockets, so it tends to slip, rather than turn the adjustment screws. Angling the hex key helps, and adjusting the alignment of the adapter only needs to be done once (a 1 minute job), so the consequence of this defect is relatively small. Overall, for less than $10, the adapter is a great value.

solid build but with a flawed design

It's a solid build and it works. But the design has an obvious flaw. After installing the lens, the aperture reading will be on the bottom side. I have to flip the camera everytime to check which f stop I'm using.

  • New life for 50yr old Pen Ft Zuiko lenses

The product is good, fits tightly to the Fuji bodies (Xe1 and Xt1 that I use). Focuses all lenses to infinity precisely. Has enabled me to make use of Zuiko 60mm f1.5, 25mm f4.0, 38mm f1.8, 100mm f3.5 and 150mm f4.0. Attached is a photo of Tree Swallow and House Sparrow using the adapter with Xt1 and Olympus PenFt Zuiko 100mm f4.0., Chipping Sparrow and Purple Finches using 150mm f4.0 and flowering Magnolia using 25mm f4.0.

  • There are cheaper adaptors available but this feels very solid and very well made.

Well made and Allen key included for removing black flange disk. Check your lense for small pin which can hit the flange preventing the adaptor to fully fit to your lense. Would benefit from a manual showing how to make sure that the aperture scale is positioned at the top of the lense. If you have to remove the flange then leave the grub screws loose, line up the aperture scale and then tighten the screws.

  • Excellent adapter

Bought these ceap adapter to mount my m42 lenses on my fuji xX-T2. Works like a charm. Good fit on to the camera and good fit with the lenses, Not much more to say really. Does what it is supposed to do. Kan also unscrew to take out ring whcih hinders some lenses from mounting well, but I have not tried these my self. Positiv: Well made Nice fit Cheap Negative: None

  • Good product at a good price-point

The adapter is solidly built and serves its purpose in general, at a very reasonable price. The connection to the camera body is good, but if I were to really pick it apart I would say there is a very tiny bit of looseness at the connection to the lens. Does it affect use? Depends on your lens. If you have a very stiff focusing or zoom ring with lots of resistance, then yes, you might feel a very slight click when turning the ring(s) back and forth. But if your lens has smooth rings then chances are you will not feel a thing and the operation will be as normal as can be. As for precision, my sample seems good. Pictures taken with lens using this adapter came out to be very sharp and even across the picture. Are there sample variations? I can't tell because I have only this one. But I am satisfied with the one I have. I could have easily given it 5 stars but I took one off for the slight click to show there is still room for improvement. Mind you, in this respect a 5 star adapter could easily cost 10 to 20 times as much, if not more.

  • Fotasy M42 to Fujifilm XF mount lens adapter

Good build quality. Quite similar to FotodioX M42-XF adapter in build quality(looks like an almost identical twin). Fits nice and snug on camera body no looseness or sloppiness when mounted to body. When I received the adapter, I installed my Belomo 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye and it remains there today.

  • Fotasy MD-FX Adapter for Minolta MD MC Rokkor Lens to Fujifilm X-Pro2 X-E1 X-E2 X-A1 X-T1 X-T10

The Fotasy MD-FX Adapter works great for my Fujifilm X-E1 and X-A-1. The construction quality is top notch and the mount rings match my Minolta MD MC Lens with precision. The fit to the Fujifilm X-E1 and X-A-1 is excellent and mounts perfectly At first the adapter was a little too tight on the Minolta MD MC side, so I used a wooden toothpick to press against the 3 small tension springs inside the adapter and softened the tension a little. This worked fine, and seems common with many of these type lens adapters. This seems like a great product for the price.

  • Short M42 adapter for micro m/3

This adapter is perfect if you want to adapt an m42 focus helicoid to micro 4/3. A standard m42 mount plus helicoid will result in m42 lenses only working at macro focusing distances since they are too far from the camera sensor to focus at infinity. This adapter is just a few millimeters thick, giving plenty of room to adapt several types of lenses. I've already adapted enlarger lenses using an m39 to m42 adapter ring, and a Componar enlarger lens (with 25mm mount) using a C-mount to m42 adapter ring, as well as being able to focus C-mount lenses as macro lenses. Finally, this adapter is useful for adding a macro bellows to the camera, giving both a little more stability to the arrangement, and allowing for lens of a shorter focal length or for obtaining less macro power. As can be inferred from the above, this adapter doesn't stand alone. It's necessary to add at least one adapter to make it useful. The adapter itself works great. It fills a niche at a very reasonable price, and adds a lot of versatility to an already versatile system.

  • Great adapter

This adapter fits well with no gaps or looseness. It seems to be well made and should stand up for some time. At this price point I would strongly consider having one for each M42 lens and leave them mounted to the lens at all times. I believe that will extend the life of the product.
