  • Nice pots and work well.

These are nice pots that fit American guitars. Nice easy rotation. Be sure the shaft diameter is compatible with your instrument. Asian guitars use a smaller bushing, so these won't fit unless the hole is CAREFULLY enlarged a bit. I installed these in a Japanese guitar and needed to take the mounting holes to 3/8". I did this after attempting to find pots that would fit, but found smaller diameter bushing pots did not have the proper length. So I put these in and they are great. Again, American instruments won't have the same issue.

  • Minor issues installing these in a strat style pickguard.

These things are way the hell better than the crappy Chinese mini-pots that I am replacing. The threads stick out really far so when you put the knob back on it's like and inch off the pickguard. (Not Really) I just made spacers out of an old broken pickguard I had lying around. Didn't have any hardware lying around that I could have used but my little cheat worked out great. You can get as precise a knob height you want. I think mine are fine now but if it really bugs me I can go buy real washers but I don't feel like putting on pants. Just my 2 cents.

  • Bourn pots , Sprague caps

Excellent components. The .022 cap's allow tone to go low and unlike PIO ( paper in oil) won't "muddy" out. PIO caps are ok for some applications and I do use them. The pots are Bourn so that is what you get. Quality without the price.

  • Smooth and great sounding.

I swapped out pots and capacitor in a $159 guitar with 250k pots a nondecript capacitor and two humbuckers. I am super impressed with the change it made. The tone and volume pots actually do something now: Good things.

  • Low Friction Short Shaft Pots work great.

Bought this product as a replacement for a 2019 Charvel San Dimas that someone had taken the original tone pot out of. Seems to be working fine.

  • Some of the best

I have been building guitars for a couple decades now and have probably tried 3/4 of the pots on the marked in that time. the two that I have settled on for guitars are either CTS or Bourns. For most of my own builds I like to use the higher friction smooth taper pots but for the build that i used these on I was looking for the looser feel to make it easier to do pinky volume swells. the tapers on Bourns pots is consistent from one to the other and their tolerances are always tight. The only time I have ever had a problem with one was when I overheated one while desoldering one from a guitar to use in another one. Otherwise I have used close to a hundred of them new and not had any fails.

Thank you TAOT for an excellent product. I’ve been a player for 36+ years, and professional guitar tech/luthier for 21, and I would highly recommend The Art of Tone pots.
