  • Carburetor change

I cleaned up and replaced the carburetor on a 1971 chevy truck. I changed it from a Carter AFB to a Edelbrock 1406. The carburetor was bench tested and didn't need much additional adjusting. It was a good price and quality carburetor. I will say give yourself some time when you buy one because they rebuild them as you order them. It takes a couple weeks to get it.

  • I usually go for the 650cfm on sbf. Never had luck leaning out the idle. 600cfm is spot on. 20+ MPG. Two thumbs up.

The carburetor is not a "drop in" replacement for my vehicle ( 1970 Mustang, stock 302) but anyone who's restored or worked on classic cars is used to modifications and a little "tweaking" at times. I had to purchase a Mr Gasket universal throttle cable kit from Advance Auto and a 1" spacer. There isn't a kick-down linkage for my transmission so I had to remove it but with the console shift I can downshift manually. The one thing to check is the fast idle. It was maxed out and when I started the engine it took off at about 5 grand. Not good on a cold start. Otherwise, purrs like a kitten.

  • Factory rebuilt Edlebrock carburetor

Worked great on my t- bucket. Runs better and took the hesitation out on acceleration. Well pleased with it. I like these carburetors. Easy to install and adjust.holleys are good but I have always liked these better. Easy to rebuild .

  • A good carburetor but need modifications.

After the carburetor arrived I did not use it. I returned it. The reason I returned it is that I would have had to change both my gas line and the transmission linkage.I really did not want to do that. Had the Edelbrock came with those modifications it would have been a greater carburetor. Therefore, I had my Rochester rebuilt and reinstalled.

  • Good rebuilt. Appears new. Saved about $70 opposed to new

Installed carb dry and then just cranked engine till float bowl filled. It started idling cold just fine with no adjustment whatsoever. I am pleased with my purchase. If you keep factory intake you must cut egr valve to clear secondary linkage. See my pic. I can not remove egr in my state for emission inspection reasons

  • Best carb out there.

The Edelbrock carbs are the best one out there. They work great right out of the box, or just remove the top and you can change out the needles, springs or jets without spilling gas everywhere. Run it or tune it to your needs. They can't be beat!

  • Simple to install and set up.

I like these carburetors. They are easy to install. It's a good idea to remove the top cover and check the float level and float drop adjustments. Mine was not close to being adjusted properly. You can use a 7/16" drill bit to check the float level and a small ruler for the float drop. Be patient and take your time, and do it right. Instructions manual and a DVD are included showing you how to set them up properly. Once that is done correctly, you shouldn't have any problems with this carb. They are reliable and very easy to work on if you ever need to. Their tech support is very helpful too. Just a phone call away in case you need them.

  • 600 edelbrock carb

Was a little hesitant that it was remanufactured, but it is great. Works like a brand new one but for a cheaper price. 100% recommend, I put it on my 79 chevy k10.

  • Initial Hook Up and Seems to Work as it Should

Finally got the truck fired up and the carb seems to work as expected. Haven't worked on fine tuning yet or wired up the electric choke, but everything seems to work well.
